31 Voices Project

The Book

A simple question in 2006--"What can I do to help?"--became a project about survivors of domestic violence, then a book about the project. It didn't stop there. Before the book was even done, the "31 Quilts" project began. Then the "31 Voices" speakers bureau. And next?

My goal, and my pleasure, is to use my voice to help other voices speak, and to help all of our voices be heard. Join us...as a voice, or as a listener. Or both.

Silence is one of the worst parts of domestic violence. Come into our project; speak; listen. Those of us who are survivors, who have our voices again, are obliged to use them; we all know someone who can not, dares not. Your gift can be simply to listen, either to our stories or the story of someone else in your life.

Someone you know has a story like one of ours. Have you listened to it? If it is your story, have you told it?

Come into our projects and look, and listen, with us.
