Nevada man charged in fatal beating

RENO, Nev. — A 22-year-old Nevada man has been jailed on suspicion of murder after he allegedly fatally beat a woman who denied his request for a cigarette.

Ryan Bonnett is accused of killing 47-year-old Eileen Pruitt on Sunday night.

Storey County Assistant Sheriff Gerald Antinoro says the woman was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where she died following surgery. He says witnesses told deputies that Bonnett became upset because the woman refused to give him a cigarette.
